Silver Desert Serpent (alluaudia procera)

Silver Desert Serpent This spiny desert traveler can reach lengths of 60 feet and rarely branch. The shimmery silver-gray trunk is cover from top to bottom in short spines and little round glossy green leaves. The wood of Alluaudia is frequently used for charcoal in its native Madagascar. This out of the ordinary oddity is an enticing addition to any drought tolerant or urban indoor houseplant collection.
